What is covered?
- Textbooks
- Tuition for classes needed for the college major
- Parking- Students must register online & let Mrs. Snow know. Cashier bills program.
- Supplies for classes- Toolkit, goggles, software required as long as it’s purchased directly from the bookstore by the program
- Students cannot be reimbursed for anything they purchase.
- Financial Aid- do not fill out FAFSA- will have 4 years of eligibility after program completion
- Shared Folder in Google Drive
Things you need to know
- Students have up to 2 years to complete their degree
- Students can only retake 1 course
- Students who fail more than 1 course will be removed from the program for the following semester.
- Students stay on the high school roster in order to be paid for by P-TECH
- Students can only take classes required for their degree program.
Preparing For Your Advisement Meeting
- Submit your Degree Works PDF to Mrs. Snow via email (asnow@bscsd.org)
- Go to your WIRED account
- Go to Academic Records
- You will see Degree Works
- Download, save as PDF, and send
- Get a transcript from any non-HVCC college you are taking CHS/UHS courses through, and have it sent directly to HVCC admissions & a copy to yourself.
- 1 week prior to your advisement meeting
- Go into HVCC WIReD
- Student Scheduler
- Choose Fall 2024
- Have 2 draft schedules to bring with you
- Classes will be offered for every pathway at TEC-SMART
- Bring AP Scores & non-HVCC CHS course list with you to the meeting.
Student Requirements
- HVCC Orientation (optional but recommended)
- Submit immunization & health records to HVCC health services
- Mandatory monthly meetings with Mrs. Snow
- Any student taking an online course will be required to come to TEC-SMART to work on it for 2 hours a week during the first 3 weeks of the semester.
- Students MUST submit grades from Bright Space to Mrs.Snow biweekly
- Check Canvas messages & announcements for communication
- Provide a schedule & book form to Mrs. Snow by deadlines.
Dates further down the road
- October 2024- Students graduating in May- attend transfer fairs
- December 2024- Apply for graduation with the Degree Application
Start of Semester Information

Textbooks- Students need to pick these up from the Viking Bookstore. If they had a schedule change they will simply exchange their books at the bookstore for the new ones for the class they are now enrolled in. Students should NOT be redeeming codes for books or opening the plastic on the books until they have confirmed at the first class meeting they are still the correct books.

Mechatronics Only- Each student needs a tool kit for the Mechatronics program. These were purchased and can be picked up at the main campus, but students need to return them at the end of their degree.
- Register vehicle on WIReD through Public Safety for parking

- Spring 2024 Degree/Certificate Application - In order to complete the application process, you MUST obtain approval of your advisor or department chairperson on this application. After you have downloaded and completed this application, send it to your academic advisor or department chairperson as an attachment to a message from your Hudson Valley student e-mail account. After review and approval, the completed application must be forwarded to the Registrar’s Office (registrar@hvcc.edu) no later than the close of business on WEDNESDAY, April 3, 2024 for your name to be included in the commencement program. You may still submit your application until Monday, May 6, 2024; however, your name will NOT appear in the commencement program.
