Logistics

  • Program Hours 7:50 AM-10:50 AM (released at 10:40 from high school)
  • Extra Help 7:30 AM-7:50 AM
  • Home School District provides transportation. Please contact your home school counselor for information.
  • Students can drive with a valid driver’s license and a completed driving form for the program.
  • Lunch- Students may miss lunch at their home school.  Students can eat prior to leaving the facility or throughout the morning.  Vending machines, refrigerator, and microwave are available on site.

High School Course – Full Year

  • 3rd year of high school Science, 1.0 HS credit

Applied Mathematics in Clean Technologies; Mr. Glogowski; mglogowski@bscsd.org

  • 3rd year of high school math, 1.0 HS credit
  • This course is not NCAA approved.
  • Students who are looking to obtain an advanced Regents diploma should also take the high school Algebra II course at their home school since there will be topics covered on the Regents exam which are not covered in the college course.

  • 3rd year of high school English, 1.0 credit
  • Students will take the NYS Regents exam at their home school.
  • If a student is accelerated and has completed English 11 as a sophomore, they will still take this course, but it may be counted as a different type of credit at the home school.  Please contact your home school counselor if this is the case.

P-TECH Career Exploration- .5 High School Elective Credit

  • 35-40 hour job shadow
  • Under the grant, students have the opportunity to participate in career exploration/job shadow experience
  • Students can complete a 35-40 in their college pathway in the summer prior to their senior year
  • Students will create a resume and interview with a business prior to securing the experience.

Students have the same log on for their BSCSD Google Drive and Canvas.  This is a single sign on - if students are in Google they will automatically be logged into Canvas.

Assignment grades can be accessed through the Canvas account.

Interims will be mailed to you and quarter grades will be sent to home schools for student report cards. BSCSD students will access these in their existing Parent Portal Account.

HVCC courses use D2L BrightSpace (learning management system) for online classes. https://mylearning.hvcc.edu/

College midterm and final grades can be accessed through the HVCC WIRED account.

Final grades will be at the end of each semester to home schools from HVCC.

ECHS Staff do not have access to grades, other than during the reporting times of midterm and final grades.

Students can access their progress in college course work by logging in to D2L BrightSpace and going to the grades tab. 

There are college courses during the February and April high school vacations.

Attendance

  • Students need to sign in/out with the office if arriving after 7:50 AM or leaving before 10:45 AM
  • Attendance notes can be sent via email to Adrienne Snow at asnow@bscsd.org
  • Students who do not turn in a note or turn one in that is not a district approved reason will be marked as unexcused.
  • Events at the home school are excused as field trips
