The students in the Clean Technologies & Sustainable Industries Early College High School program will participate in a monthly community service project.
Marian Eck, Director of Community Engagement for the Veterans & Community Housing Coalition spoke to students about what the Coalition does for Veterans. Their mission is to, "provide safe housing and comprehensive support services to homeless military veterans and their families, advocates for the needs and rights of all veterans, and offers affordable housing opportunities for low income individuals and families. The Coalition offers the following programs; Transitional Housing Programs for Veteran, Permanent Housing Programs for Veterans, Supportive Services for Veteran Families, Veteran Food Pantry, Emergency Housing Voucher, and Foreverly House. Mrs. Eck spoke to students about items they can collect in the donation drive and how the items will be used. Students will be collecting items at HVCC North until Friday, November 21st.
