Summer Bridge Information for Students Entering Grade 10

Summer Bridge Information for Students Entering Grade 10

We hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far!  We are looking forward to having our incoming 10th graders back to HVCC North (345 Hermes Road Malta) on Thursday, July 17th and Friday, July 18th.  Here is some important information for those 2 days.

  • Program is 8:30 AM-2:30 PM.  HVCC security will be there at 7:30 AM to allow early drop offs if needed.

  • Students need to bring their charged chromebook.  All students should have kept their program chromebook from last year.  Please reach out by Tuesday, July 8th if your child does not have a chromebook.

  • Students should bring lunch with them each day.  There are vending machines of snacks and beverages.

  • Students should bring a snack with them each day.

  • Students should bring a refillable water bottle each day. We will give them one of these on Thursday.

  • Sunscreen is recommended as we will be outside for some activities.

  • Students should wear sneakers as we do a good amount of walking and outdoor activities.

  • Transportation- Students should reach out to their home school to see if they are transporting to and from summer bridge. Ballston Spa does NOT transport to summer bridge.

For the sophomore summer bridge, we will review information for the HVCC college class students will take via an online format in the fall.  The HVCC Professor will be meeting with students to introduce the college course on Thursday of Summer Bridge. We are very grateful he is doing this for an online course. Students will do a kick off challenge to explore each of the college pathways they will dive into this year prior to choosing their HVCC major in May.  Here is the contact information for this year:

Forms

Students need a Certificate of Residency in order to be registered for their HVCC college class.  Please reference the letter sent home in the spring and have your child bring the original Certificate or Residency with them to Summer Bridge so that everything can be processed. Students cannot get this until after July 7th unless they are taking a summer course.

Students should also bring with them their paperwork permission forms for the upcoming school year.

If your child is unable to attend Summer Bridge, and you have not already emailed Adrienne Snow regarding this, please let her know.  Please contact ECHS Program Coordinator, Adrienne Snow, with any questions.  We look forward to everyone’s return on July 17th.
