Summer Bridge 2025 Information for Incoming 9th Graders

We are looking forward to having our incoming 9th graders join us at HVCC North (345 Hermes Road Malta) on Monday, July 14th through Wednesday, July 16th.  Here is some important information for next week.

  • Program is 8:30 AM-2:30 PM.  HVCC security will be there at 7:30 AM to allow early drop offs if needed.  Students need to be picked up at 2:30 each day.

  • We will be going to Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake on Tuesday, July 15th.  We will be taking a charter bus from HVCC North.  Students need to arrive at 8 AM and be picked up at 3 PM on this day.  Students can either bring a lunch or bring money to purchase a lunch from the cafe at the museum on this day.  Please make sure that all paperwork is submitted by Monday, July 14th.  Students should have bug spray, sunscreen, and a rain coat.  Students should wear sneakers or hiking shoes as there are many trails they can go on.

  • Students will need a computer device for these days (not Tuesday).  Here are some options for each student.

    • Students should bring their home school district device if they have it from 8th grade (Ballston Spa students should have theirs)

    • Students can borrow a chromebook for the week and return it on Wednesday if they know their school is issuing them one in the fall

    • Students can sign out a chromebook for the duration of their time in the P-TECH program.  They will turn it in when they graduate from P-TECH.

  • Students should bring lunch with them each day.  There are vending machines of snacks and beverages.

  • Students should bring a snack with them each day.

  • Students should bring a refillable water bottle each day. We will provide students with one of these on Monday.

  • Sunscreen is recommended as we will be outside for some activities.

  • Students should wear sneakers as we do a good amount of walking and outdoor activities.

  • Transportation- Students should reach out to their home school to see if they are transporting to and from summer bridge. Ballston Spa does NOT transport to summer bridge.

For the freshmen summer bridge, the emphasis is on community building/team building as we have 85 students from many school districts in the region.  Students will also learn how to use the different platforms the program uses for instruction and submitting assignments.  Students will do a mini challenge to become familiar with the engineering design cycle.  Here is the contact information for this year:
