Student Workshop Day
The Clean Technologies & Sustainable Industries Early College High School hosted a Student Workshop Day at the Hudson Valley Community College North Campus on Thursday, March 14th. Students had the opportunity to listen to two representatives from CAPTAIN Youth Services who work in anti trafficking. Students received tips regarding being safe on various social media platforms, and how to recognize if a peer needs help. Students then chose from workshop offerings hosted by the New York State Business Council, Broadview Communications, and current ECHS staff. Crystal Griffith, the Director of Workforce Development and Education, conducted a workshop on writing resumes and cover letters, as well as provided tips for interviewing for an internship or job. Broadview Communications led a workshop on Budgeting Basics. Students participated in a financial simulation to understand how to manage money. Mr. Balet and Mr. Glogowski conducted a training workshop on how to change a tire. Students had the opportunity to experience different situations to help them if their car breaks down and they don't have cell phone service to call for help.
