P-TECH Year 5 & 6 Opening of School Information

P-TECH Year 5 & 6 Opening of School Information

Classes begin on Tuesday, September 3

  • Registration:  Your fall schedule will be dropped if you have not submitted a Certificate of Residency.  The COR has to be scanned and emailed to asnow@bscsd.org, then the hard copy should be put in the mail to the attention of Adrienne Snow at 220 Ballston Ave. Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
    • Schedule:  You need to email me your fall schedule (if you haven't done so) to Mrs. Snow
  • Textbooks (NEW PROCESS):  The HVCC bookstore is no longer doing prepacks.  You will need to bring your schedule to the Viking Bookstore and obtain the books for your classes.  When you go to the register, tell them you are a Ballston Spa PTECH year 5/6 student.  If they give you a receipt, please keep it in a safe place.  If you end up changing classes or the professor changes the book then you need the receipt to return it and get new ones.  DO NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING FOR YOUR CLASSES!!!  If you pay we can't reimburse you.  This includes textbooks, software, lab kits, class equipment and tools.
  • If a class requires something that you do not have, email Mrs. Snow immediately.  It takes a few weeks to process requests.
  • Health Records:  Please reference the HVCC Health Website to submit all required documentation for attendance.
  • Parking:  Vehicle registration is available beginning tomorrow. This is only required if you are attending classes on the main campus in Troy.  You will do this each semester.  Go to the HVCC Parking Portal.  You will register your vehicle, but do not pay.  Please pay attention to parking rules and lot assignments, which can be found here.
  • Grant Requirement Reminder:  You can only retake 1 college course under the grant.  You will be responsible for payment of any retakes above the 1 for the same requirement.  For example, if you were to fail a history class, the retake of a different history class fulfilling that same requirement counts as the retake.  I will communicate with you regarding this if it comes up.
  • Mandatory Meetings:  As part of the grant, you are required to meet with Mrs. Snow monthly.  There will be a day on the main campus in the Campus Center and then additional days at HVCC North.
  • Please disregard any tuition bills from HVCC.  If other bills or correspondence are received, please send them to Mrs. Snow for clarification.
  • Once again- DO NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING UP FRONT.  THE GRANT CANNOT REIMBURSE YOU.
