Juniors Present to Economic Developers and Town Board Members
The juniors in the Clean Technologies & Sustainable Industries Early College High School (Ballston Spa's P-TECH Program) presented their Smart Growth presentations to those involved in Economic Development for the region, including the Town Supervisor for the Town of Malta, members of the Town of Malta and Town of Milton Boards, and the President of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce. For this project, based on their research of the principles of Smart Growth, students analyzed the threats and opportunities associated with population growth, identified the evidence-based benefits of Smart Growth, and designed a model of their redesigned community space related to the community demographic data they collected. Students presented both a physical model and computer model of their plan. Students received feedback on their presentations and areas where they can continue to focus.
