Juniors Go out in the Field for Water Quality Testing

Juniors in the Clean Technologies & Sustainable Industries Early College High School went to different parts of the Kayaderosseras Creek to take Water Samples this week.  Students used water sampling probe and testing equipment to take water samples for their specific water quality parameter.  Students were responsible for checking pH, DO, Nitrate, etc.  Students then had to record the mean value of each 30 second sample.  Students had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Josh Ness, a Professor in the Biology Department at Skidmore College, who is also a representative for the Friends of Kayaderosseras.  Students will incorporate this information in their Stormwater Quality Technology Challenge mastery project.  For more information on the ECHS program, please contact ECHS Program Coordinator, Adrienne Snow, asnow@bscsd.org.
