ECHS Juniors Build Community Garden in Collaboration with HVCC

The Operations Manager for Hudson Valley Community College, Matty Blair, developed the idea of a Community Garden at HVCC's North Campus in order to have positive environmental impacts, such as increased biodiversity and better air and soil quality.  It is also a way to add beautification to the revitalized campus.  Students in the Clean Technologies & Sustainable Industries Early College High School are assisting with the community service project this year.  On Tuesday, October 6th, current juniors began the process of laying the soil in the raised beds on campus.  They will continue the process over the next few weeks.  This is another example of the partnership between Hudson Valley Community College and the Clean Tech ECHS (a NYS P-TECH school).  Please contact ECHS Program Coordinator, Adrienne Snow, asnow@bscsd.org, with any questions.
