Clean Tech ECHS Hosts Student Shadow Day

Clean Tech ECHS Hosts Student Shadow Day

The Clean Technologies & Sustainable Industries Early College High School hosted a Shadow Day for prospective students today.  Forty four students from eight different schools attended the P-TECH program for the morning.  Students participated in a mini challenge where they had to put together a zip line racer with students from other schools in a thirty minute time period. The activity gave students an opportunity to experience what it is like to solve a problem with an innovative solution while collaborating with group members they do not know. Current seniors and juniors in the program assisted students with the challenge. Visiting students met with current tenth grade students and learned about the "love boat" they were creating and and the engineering process they followed in order to ensure their boat could float while carrying a maximum amount of candy hearts. Students participated in an Engineering college class and visited each of the eleventh and twelfth grade classes.

There is an additional Shadow Day opportunity on March 27th.  Students need to pre-register:  https://forms.gle/233WGXsRp1FVhy419.

Applications are due to the program on May 9th. Please contact ECHS Program Coordinator, Adrienne Snow, asnow@bscsd.org, with any questions.
