Clean Tech ECHS Hosts New York State P-TECH Conference

The Clean Technologies & Sustainable Industries Early College High School hosted the New York State P-TECH Conference on November 12th and 13th.  Over 120 people from over 40 P-TECH schools across New York State were in attendance.  The second day of the conference opened with a Keynote Address from Deputy Secretary of Education for New York State, Maria Fernandez.  Other speakers included Stan Litow, previous Deputy Schools Chancellor for the New York City Public School system, President of the IBM Foundation, and author of "Breaking Barriers:  How P-TECH Schools Create a Pathway from High School to College to Career".  The conference included workshops and collaboration on best practices for student success, teaching and learning, engaging business partners, and supporting students through the school counseling services.  Representatives from the New York State Education Department were present to assist the different P-TECH administrators in strategies for ensuring student success.  The conference was sponsored by P-TECH Lead Partner, GLOBALFOUNDRIES.
